Experimental Nature of EFT
Despite having impressive clinical results, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) or “Tapping” is still regarded as an experimental approach and is not widely accepted in traditional public health systems
EFT Practitioner’s Accreditation
Jessica Hopley-Willcock offers services in her capacity as a Certified EFT Practitioner, accredited through EFTMRA and the services provided are primarily educational in nature.
Caution and Responsibility
Both practitioner and the public must exercise caution and take responsibility for their use of EFT.
Different from Counseling
While EFT incorporates aspects of exposure therapy, cognitive therapy, and mindfulness, the primary emphasis during an EFT session typically centers on the practice of “tapping” on specific acupressure points. Extensive research has shown that this tapping technique plays a pivotal role in the effectiveness of EFT.
Consult with Healthcare Providers
You are strongly advised to consult your existing healthcare providers regarding your use of EFT. Inform them that you are incorporating EFT as an evidence-based stress management tool.
Medication
You consent to refrain from altering your drugs or other treatments without first seeking advice from your current healthcare providers.
Medical Disclaimer
You acknowledge and accept that EFT is not intended to be a substitute for standard medical, psychiatric, or psychological care and is not designed for the diagnosis, prescription, or treatment of any physical or mental ailment or disorder. By accepting the terms and conditions you agree that you do not interpret is as such.
Client Responsibility
While engaging in group or personal sessions, you are responsible for your own well-being. You hereby agree that any suggestions provided by Hope Well Tapping shall not be regarded as a substitute for professional medical advice. Support for Diagnosed Mental Health Problems
Before using our service, you could be required to seek the assistance of a General Practitioner (GP), psychologist, or other licensed mental health professional if you have a diagnosed mental health condition. EFT is not a substitute for receiving professional mental health care; our service may not be comprehensive enough to satisfy your requirements on its own. Our first priority is your well-being, and providing holistic care may require working with a variety of trained professionals.
Mental Health Crisis Preparedness
Clients must understand that this service cannot provide immediate assistance in the event of a mental health crisis occurring after-hours or during emergency situations. In the event of a significant deterioration in mental health, clients agree to proactively seek appropriate mental health services that are equipped to handle crises. This may include contacting local crisis hotlines, emergency services, or mental health professionals.
