Frequently Asked Questions

Comprises a set of techniques aimed at helping individuals quickly take charge of their emotions and rewire the way their brains respond to things or events in peoples lives that are causing distress. EFT, or Emotional Freedom Techniques, combines elements of mindfulness, cognitive and exposure therapy with acupressure. Often referred to as "tapping" because that's the physical action individuals perform during an EFT session.

When the acupressure points are tapped, it sends a signal to the amygdala, a part of the brain responsible for processing stress and emotions. That it's safe to calm down and change the way your brain associates with the specific triggers in your environment that cause emotional distress. The amygdala plays a crucial role in triggering the body's stress response and initiating the fight-or-flight reaction when it detects a threat in your environment. This evolutionary response is designed to prepare your body to deal with threats and will do everything to keep you safe. However this can become a hindrance if your brain has associated disagreements in relationships, deadlines at work and socializing in group settings as something threatening. Which can cause anxiety, lead to procrastination, result in poor decision-making, and ultimately sabotage your success in achieving your goals.
